About Dallen Shakespear (Founder)

Dallen brings a unique perspective to business acquisitions, shaped by his roots in Escalante, Utah—a remote high-desert town surrounded by the iconic vistas of the American Southwest. Growing up in an area known as the “Golden Loop,” a region drawing millions of tourists annually to its national parks and monuments, Dallen was immersed in a community where hard work in agriculture and tourism sustained families. This blue-collar ethos instilled in him a deep respect for businesses that prioritize their employees and long-term stability over short-term gains.

With a degree in economics from Brigham Young University, Dallen honed his financial acumen during a seven-year tenure at Goldman Sachs. There, he managed risk for alternative investment vehicles, including private equity, hedge funds, and venture capital, eventually overseeing portfolios with a team of 14 analysts. Later, he transitioned to lead a team in Enterprise Risk, evaluating organizational risks for Goldman Sachs itself. This rigorous experience equipped him with unparalleled expertise in finance, organizational behavior, and leadership—skills he now leverages to build lasting value for business owners and their teams.

Dallen’s vision for Golden Loop Capital was born from a desire to return to his roots and invest in businesses that resonate with the communities he grew up around. After three years at Eads Bridge Holdings in Menlo Park, California, where he led business development and drove acquisitions in behavioral health, Dallen founded Golden Loop Capital to focus on stable, growing companies in the lower middle market, particularly those in trade and blue-collar sectors. Unlike traditional private equity models that prioritize quick exits, Dallen champions a holding company approach, emphasizing long-term stability, employee development, and the preservation of the owner’s legacy.
